To Sketch or Not to Sketch...or to SHOW, that is the Scary Question!

OK ... this is really the most nervous I have been since blogging.... actually showing a really bad side of me...one that I seldom if ever share... my 'Doodle Sketches' ..of which I have a million of these suckers laying all over the place. But in a friends blog this morning (Thanks Chris) he had posted some of his lovely sketches of ideas for his artwork (still tinged with a Muguet like green Chris) ...and I thought WOW...this is something that really interests me and would be fun to see others doodle sketches...
SooOOoOOoo I said to myself "Self...get off your back side and pop and post a few shots of YOUR silly little sketches ...of which I so lovely referred to on Chris's site as "

looking like a 'Mad Hen' had her way with a scrape of paper I had laying around..."
So with all the spilled coffee stains, misspelled words, nonsensical lines to no where...I introduce to you a small glimpse into my world of 'sketchy ideas' GULP!!!

Jodi

Jodi, the worst time for me to Doodle is when I'm on the phone. My hubby usually grabs the pen off me. LOL

GREAT!!! These are TOO fun and thanks for sharing Jodi.

I'm tickled I inspired you a "bit" to share these. I was NERVOUS too and trust me, I have spills on some of mine TOO!

LOL '-)

PS: I think I may attempt doing some WIP blog posts...still gathering the courage for that one...yikes!!!

Have a great weekend.

I'm really glad you decided to share. I truly love seeing your sketches. I don't think you have anything to be ashamed of. At least you can draw. I don't show mine, even to family. Send more! GingerR11

Well I have never ever claimed to be a sketch artist...in fact many times my drawings resemble thoses of a first grader (no offence to the first graders out there) HEY..there is a show for TV "Can you draw better than a first grader"...my answer would be "Ahhhh...NO".. All I ever hope for is to get some semblance of a form to get the idea across to my brain...I have resorted many times to stick figures...
OK Chris...what is WIP (work in progress?) lordy...that would be very scary for me indeed...

I hear ya Debbie...I have pads all over the place and in the car...The funny part is when Richard looks at what I have 'sketched' (I use the term VERY loosely) and turns his head side to side and then at a 90 degree angle trying to make heads or tails of it...makes me chuckle to myself...he tries so hard to understand my strange ways.

Oh Ginger ...you are WAAAAAY to kind. Remember how wonderful Bill Nelson's little doodles were...he once asked me at NIADA to sketch out what I was describing to him...LOL...I was very quick in my thinking and claimed to have a sore finger...WHEW!!! Dodged a BIG Bullet!!

Hi Patty...

Yes indeedy ...many of those sketches became dolls we have sold...I should really show Richard's 'techno' drawings of the same doll...his designs on paper.... sooo different.

Jodi, Thanks for sharing your sketches. Yours are much better than mine! ;-) I recently bought a book of James Christiansen's art and love that the margins are covered with his doodles. Your sketches reminded me of the same playful quality that is conveyed by those doodles in the margins. I'm not nearly so unselfconscious to undertake that play yet.

Hi Amy...thanks so much for your very kind comments. Believe me, it took a lot of nerve for me to let go public my 'doodles' ... I love to paint, but I can't draw to save my soul... I skect just enough to get the idea out of my head...and my imagination takes it from there...

Thanks for stopping by
