To Many of my Childhood Dolls... I once believed they just quietly slipped off into Doll Heaven on a white fluffy Marshmallow cloud ...or were taken by yard fairies removed of all ball point pen markings, regrew chopped off hair and were beautifully redressed in sparkly Fairy dresses to become the New Fairy Queen.... but recently I became painfully aware of the Ugly Truth....and now, the Ugly Truth can be exposed!!
Doll Turf Wars...each vying for the affections of small children, Troll against Barbie, Barbie against Chatty Cathy, Chatty Cathy's against Raggedy Ann... and so on. Brutality at it's worst....
Don't let this happen to your Child's Doll when they are finished with play...watch for the telltale signs ... missing arms or legs, large red crayon markings on the lips or eyeballs, forced to wear the clothing of Madame Alexander or stripped of all clothing and left to huddle alone in a dark toy box.... Next time...don't blame the kids....look to the Trolls!!!

darn.... I just packed all my childhood dolls and toys into one big box. I know there was one barbie and at least one troll.... fortunatly no cook-stoves... however now you have me worried!!
LOL Oh Jodi that picture did make me laugh. I was never a Barbie Girl, more into cars and climbing trees..Although I did have a Tiny Tears I thought she was brilliant cause she wee'd...
I almost wee'd... thank you Jodi for a huge guffaw!!!
I could not believe my eyes.I shall not shed a tear, I have never loved Barbie, I had one but I only used it as a mannequin for the dresses I used to sew. Debbie, I had Tiny Tears as well. Still have it somewhere....
Hahahaha! I loved this! That picture is priceless! thanks for the belly laugh!
I say lower that barbie down until she boils... Lol.
I know where all my dolls went... in the bin. My ever so loving mum just chucked them all in.
I never had any clothes for my sindy (or was in cindy... i forget) doll and so made them from paper. Cut her hair and made her a punk too! The dogs chewed her feet and she had an arm missing.
She was doomed from the start.
Fab picture though isnt it?
Oh yes, i forgot to say i too had a tiny tears the did wee's and really cried. But i had another one that did a number two and you mixed up this stuff like wallpaper paste to feed her. I think they were called baby alive.
But, it ran out and so i used real wallpaper paste, which resulted with her clogging her right up.
Poor doll!
So funny! Or when Barbie disappeared at my house, I suspected that that buff and finely chiseled GI Joe had absconded with her and was somewhere ravishing her!

I'm beginning to think you are a complete nutter Jodi...I just love your warped sense of humour.
And...I was never too fond of Barbie anyway, much preferred my teddies!

Sandi My Blog
Somehow, my Barbie's all were suckered into an alternative "What Not to Wear" episode, leaving them all shoeless, wearing dresses made from socks with the feet cut off and slits near the top for armholes, straight pins jabbed into their earlobes leaving dark green stains, and ball point pen cosmetic tattoos. The bad haircuts were of course, gratis.
I love your post!

Hi Debbie....
I too was really not a 'Dolly' girl...they were forced onto me as a thing I was supposed to play with...give me a baseball and a bike or tree any day...
But...I did also have a Tiny Tears Doll...as a matter of fact, I still have her...they had a great 'rubber' smell to them...a very familar memory of childhood.
Hugs,
Jodi

Oh Dear Nikki...

I still have most of mine...not sure why...it must be the pack rat in me... I never really played with dolls...I think I used them more for my audience...lined em up and told jokes....thats the truth!!

Jodi
Hi Jody...
Now THERE'S a Visual!!! What a great idea to write a whole book on 'Doll Love' as seen through the eyes of Barbie...her many escapades...her trists with G.I. Joe, Ken and a brief affrair with the Bozo Doll.... ""Memoirs of a Barbie!""
I think I might it a shot...
Hugs,
Jodi

Hi Robin...Yes it really is amazing how a doll that was advertised so heavily as a High Fashion Woman about Town ...could at times look so funky and disheveled... I kinda like that fact that Barbie could be seen both ways...like, the Barbie growing up on the wrong side of the Legos , and how she had to work so hard in a Male Doll World to get to the top of her game...High Society Girl...working clothes by day...slinky Evening gown and microphone by night...having to care for her little sister Skipper... as they lost their parents in the Great Toy Wars...
If she can make it at Toys R Us...she can make it anywhere!!!
Hugs,
Jodi

Hi Wendie...
ZOWIE... Barbie has come a long way... who knew she would become such a sensation in the Adult Film Industry!! Well from what I understand little 'Skipper' required more and more from Barbie so money had to be made somehow...
Looks like she is doing well ...and kept her girlish figure through the years...
Hugs,
Jodi
