I have been Reminiscing Again...

I have been doing that a lot lately... taking that peaceful stroll down Memory Lane...it is just so relaxing for me to do... gives me a small chance to hop back into a time when all seemed safe and calm and right with the world.
Though I of course don't remember the above picture time...this is indeed one of my favorite pictures ever...it is of My Dad and Me... He used to play little tunes to me and my Mom said I would smile and laugh all the while...and for those that might be worried he was playing his trumpet loudly...nope, Mom said he played at a whisper tone... Even though I do not remember this time...it sparks other memories of Dad and Me... all of my life until I was about 14 I would help dad clean his trumpet and sit on the edge of the bath tub watching with amazement as he practiced (good acoustics in the bathroom...lol) ...I was his little buddy and he was my Hero....I miss him so...but, our memories live quite nicely in old photos...they trip a switch in our minds that allows us wonderful time travel ... Time Marches Forward but Memories linger behind keeping a safe and comfortable place for us to visit anytime we wish...
Happy Monday,
Jodi

Just such a wonderful photo Jodi. We have books and books of photos of us and the children as I hardly have any of my Mum and Dad and I and I dont want our children to say the same.
Its wonderful to have something to spark those memories. Im a terribly nostalgic person and get quite emotional at the silliest of memories, and not only my own, your photo brought a tear to my eye. I also have the worst of memories for everyday things i need to keep on top of, but a memory like an elephant for all those family moments and they are after all the important ones to keep in my aging head!!!lol Kate xx

Lovely photo Jody and one to always treasure!
I'm glad your dad didnt play it loud too... lol.

Thank you for the nice comment about by birch broom and the mandrakes.
I will use your idea for the mushrooms on my next broom, which will be a woodland mushroom collector.

What a wonderful photo. It has captured such a lovely moment, just the way you are looking at each other is so touching. I love how photos can transport you back in time like that, its the same with smells, sometimes you will smell something and are instantly you are taken back to another time.
I've been feeling nostalgic lately too as we've been sorting out my daughters things ready for her leaving home this weekend. Memories are very special, it seems when we are at our busiest and life gets hectic or stressful they are always there ready to take us to a calmer place.

What a sweet pix! My mother has been gone now for six years and I wish most fervently that she were here to see my three wonderful children. She'd be happy to know I 'aint' done too bad' after all! LOL! My Dad is still with us and though he soldiers on, he grieves every day. A childhood friend and I were just saying the other day to each other, "Did you ever imagine life would turn out this way?" Of course we were referring to both the good and the bad.

It is wonderful to have these memories and the photos to go with them. I think that is why I am so involved in scrapbooking because I worry so much about forgetting my memories. Hugs,
tina :)

Hi Tina...

Yes Scrapbooking is wonderful for that...safeguarding our memories and later times...
I am trying to scan my whole life of photos onto discs...my fear now is that all my old photos will go 'POOF' one day .....
