Fun Stuff!

Before Halloween we were asked to 'test drive' a new Polymer Clay for Doll Makers ...to give them our thoughts on how it handled, sculpted, conditioned etc... what a thrilling opportunity we thought... I don't think I can say the company name nor any details ...but I am keeping my fingers crossed for a brilliant new clay that we doll makers can have lots of fun with and enjoy working with...
I need to sculpt 4 different heads in the clay (from each batch) ...the way I normally do and tell them what I think... on a questionnaire...and then send them the heads and my thoughts...
I love these kinda things... should be fun and interesting all in one... but I often wonder why I am never asked to do blind testing for a chocolate or Vodka company??? Drat!!!
So that's about all to report from the Creager Clan..
OK...I am off to sculpt ...and if time allows...see a Wizard!!!
Hugs,
Jodi

I have this strange vision of the clay company performing scientific experiments on the dolls heads you are sending to them.

Perhaps you should put some surprises inside.

Sweet! I have never had any, nada, no art supplies thrown my way, I guess it pays to be famous.

A wizard you should allow time for that Jodi....

I hope the clay is Kato clay... Donna has great clay but so hard to work with for doll makers.... anyway I'll look forward to a "new" clay!

On to Thanksgiving!

Cool! would like that too, I mean testing clay ;), I don't drink alcohol and chocolates are bad for the weight ;))
Love to hear how the testing went.

And thank you for commenting about beastly deer. If I don't forget, I will post pictures of the holidays over here...when the time is there ;))

That's really cool! Blind clay tester..er...so to speak. :)
Will you do really detailed heads? Will it be hard to part with them that way, bodyless?
Will the clay company try to break them, stress test? I like Karin Corbin's idea of putting *surprises* inside....at the very least a brain, and a wireless audio transmitter....
Have fun claying and wizard visiting.

Hey just noticed the word verification I have before I can submit this comment says "Bless", that's so cool, first time I ever got a readable almost symbolic word verification message...wooooooooo

OOoOO Karin...great idea...I could sculpt tiny little 'brains'...make the head hollow so they could hear the rattle...hee hee...

Hi William...

I am sure there are several artists that they asked to do this and that will be participating... I was flattered they asked, but also feel they know I have a reputation as someone who just can't say "NO" .... I am thinking someone should snap you up for your own 'Cooking Show' ...now that we would all watch...

Hugs for the Weekend

Hi Pattee...

I have never tried Kato Clay, mainly cause it is never sold where I have lived...I have heard both good and bad about it...
Do they have a basic Doll color or are they all bright colors?

Hi Tace...

It will seem strange sending off heads without bodies...I will just do my regular sculpts...I am not sure they are looking for anything really detailed...I think they just want us to do what we normally do...
I am sure they will break them apart to see the inside and how it bakes through etc (don't want to think about it...shudder!!!)
That is VERY cool that you got the word 'Bless' ...mine usually spell "Gobdablko' or "snarkeedaboo'

Happy Weekend Hugs,
Jodi

Hi Rosanna...

So nice to see you... Oh Dear...I can't do 12 heads...probably only 4 (one in each clay) and then hands over armatures...that will be hard enough...Ugh!

Have a wonderful Weekend

Hugs,
Jodi

Sounds like a wonderful experiment. A softer Kato would be neat, I pretty much use it exclusively now due to it's durability and strength.
Looking forward to hearing the Mad Scientist reports you have to give us, lol. xo

Jodi...that sounds very interesting. I hope we get to see the little heads and hear about the progress. I have always been a Fimo girl but I like to try new things too. Do keep us posted. ;-)
