The Dumbledore Project!!

Well Sunday yet again slipped right past me.... as I think I mentioned before, Sundays tend to be my 'cram days'...where I cram every project that I have lingering into this one day....running here and there around the house..in a frantic crazed haze. I really should tie a piece of yarn onto my leg...I'll bet at days end I would have a VERY interesting Afghan !!

Mainly we worked on our Dumbledore Miniature for our collector. And what I have decided to do is post pictures here of his progress ...basically birth to fini! Which means I will be doing a lot of sneaking up on Richard and getting 'peering over the shoulder' shots... I will also take some shots of his body and dressing shots...(Dumbledore's...NOT Richards!!!)

Richard has the biggest task of all...as a truly dedicated anal perfectionist ...he is determined to get Dumbledores Lectern 'JUST RIGHT' ...which means tons of extra planning out and work ...don't ya just LOVE a challenge!!! Can you say ..."CRAZY ALREADY"...we can!!!! But it will be fun and indeed we do love a challenge and this one will be unique. Now we are taking artistic licence here as I have decided to create the Richard Harris Dumbledore (the first one) ...which means his clothing is different than the second...there are a lot less detailed photos to find than the second dude... and we are taking artistic licence with combining the second Dumbledore's Lectern with the RH one... but it just seemed the thing to do and we are nuts about that lectern...all the melty candles, gigantic golden owl...glass balls with dragon carvings...etc etc etc... and away we go!!!

So I will from time to time post pics of this piece in progress here on my blog...something that I rarely do ...as I seldom stop work to pop a pic... wish us luck!!!

I have posted a few pics to get the ball rolling ... these were just quick snaps on my worktable...head , legs and hands....

Head is without hat and glasses, hands are not yet painted and legs are just starting to be painted......I will begin putting all together today while Richard will be sawing and doing shop stuff today.......let's see if I can 'sneak' up and snap snap without causing any accidents..... I promise to be VERY careful and quiet!!

Let the Project Begin!!!

Jodi and Richard

Who knew Albus was hiding such youthful and well-defined legs under that robe? Will he have a six-pack (of butterbeer)too? Love seeing your wips - and love the idea of sneaking up on DH.

Morning Cheryl...

Yes...those are the little known details on Albus Dumbledore...he had well shaped and sexy Gams!! That's really why the long robes...otherwise Professor MacGonagal and Professor Sprout would have been having Cat Fights in the great hall over him...too messy!!
Glad you like the wip idea...GULP!! If I can only remember to snap shots and not get too far ahead..I do tend to get lost in work..

Have a Great Monday

love all the creases and saggy bits on his face. The lines are perfect.
He's now going to be my favourite i'm sure. Oh i cant decide.
Its also nice to see all the bits and bobs before the clothes and can't wait to see him complete.
I'm off on my broom to try a new type of broom for a mini witch without the bristles.. Lol
Need to go and find my 10 year old first though. Seems to have vanished out playing. This means walking and walking and lots of calling. Why do children do this to their parents.

Isnt Dumbledore supposed to be gay, maybe he could be wearing a pair of pink frilly knickers under his robes he he lol! His face is just perfect Jodi, magnificent. This is going to be such a great project for us all to watch, thankyou so much for the oppurtunity to watch your step by step creation, its so exciting. Hugs Kate and John xx

Hi Jodi, I'm so glad your doing Dumbledore in the style of RH. He was the best. Loved him in a Man called Horse. RH did have a magnificent pair of legs in that..
And as for Pink Frilly Knickers don't you dare.. Dumbledore's face is fabulous. I'm in Love with him already..

Afternoon Nikki....

Glad you like the saggy bits and wrinkles...wish I could say the same for my saggy bits and wrinkles....LOL!!!
Now to figure out the fabrics for AD...the curse of living in a small town with only one fabric store...I have to improvise a lot~!!
Broom without bristles...cool! Will you carve it? Richard has carved a few..including the Nimbus 2000...you can make with paper clay... you have a knack for that...
Find that kid!!!

Found him in the garden (all five inches of it). In he strolled as i was just putting my boots on ready to start the search.
Its not a bristle brush but a root stump broom, like the witch has just pulled it straight from the soil.
After pulling up some roots in the garden the idea filled my mad mind.
This one is going to become a ghost broom so will be all white.
Just waiting for the wire to dry (like you do).
My step Dad has a picture of a red Indian and the creases and lines on dumbledores face are exactly the same. He's just fab.
Back to me broom!

Hello Nikki...

So happy you found him...I use to waunder off as a child ..my Dad would whistle very loudly for me when time to come home..I could here him a block away...run like the wind towards home before he would set off the 'second' whistle alarm...that meant I was in TROUBLE... and my backside would soon turn a lovely shade of pink....
Root Broom...how cool is that...ya need a little mushroom character hanging onto one of the roots...as if he were also pulled up....tee hee...
Can't wait to see...

Happy Monday
