OK...I did a Tiny Bit of Dabbling

I think I mentioned that I found some cool Skelly Paper Mache Masks at a local craft store ...so I bought a bunch and just for the ducks of it started to paint one...WHAT FUNNNNNNNNNN!! Now I am NOT a quality painter by any stretch of the imagination like all of these brilliant tole and Craft Painters I see on ETSY and EBAY.....their stuff just curls the toes... these are just doodles and dabs of paint here and there...I have never done this before
so have much to learn. ... and of course, after finishing I discovered that there are 'art pens' out there to do this whole thing much easier with...DUH!! I did this all with a tiny little brush... I LOVE black and white (as many of you already know or might have suspected)...so he is in black, white and gray tones...but of course...as I seem to be hung up on Orange Lately ...I slightly tinted (through the magic of Photoshop) two of the shots...gotta keep with the Orange Theme!!..tee hee....
Back to serious work..enough of this fun and frivolity for me (grrrrrrrrrrrrr...but I wanna play!!!)
Hugs,
Jodi

It looks great Jodi!! I LOVE black and white too.... its my fav when it comes to photographs! I have played around in photoshop a lot with these and I have found something I love to do!:

1.Edit your image in color to your liking and flatten any layers.
2.Duplicate the layer (now you have two layers of the same image)
3.Completly desaturate the top layer so that it is black and white.
4.On the bottom layer, leave the image in color but put an orange photo filter on it and turn it up all the way (so its very orange).
5. Reduce the top layers opacity to 80% (or to your liking).
6. Voila.... flatten layers...I feel like doing this almost gives a golden feeling to my black and white photographs. Its a very subdued pop!

Hope that made sense! And you may already know that trick too (i know its hard to make up to many new tricks in photoshop these days!) Must go find me some skull masks!! -ara

The skull is amazing. It's the detail of the designs that make him so.
OMG - my word verification is actually a word! Prick. LOL!

Hi Chris...

Thanks so much...but YOU my friend are master of this medium...I am a simple dabbler who from time to time ventures into the dark forest ...quickly realizing I am out of my element...then I run back to safe grounds...but it's fun to play and try... makes us grow...

Hi Georgina..

I know...The little girl with the big spider is pretty creepy ...I must admit...I have held those big trantulas in my hand...very docile and softly fuzzy.. held one bigger than the palm of my hand... it was absolutely an EEEEEEK Moment!!

Jodi

Hi Jonty...

One of my true weaknesses...I see something 'blank'...and must make something with it or out of it...

Hi Marie...

Can you tell I had fun!! Much to learn, but fun while I am trying...you have not idea how hard it was not to apply 'polymer clay' to the blank skull mask...LOL!!!
