The Weather is Warm,Spring has sprung..and the Cactus are in bloom!!

Spring has at last decided to stick around a while here in the Southwest Desert...now this is not to say she may decide to mix things up a bit down the road...giving us some cooler wetter days.. but for now she has pitched her tent in March and looks like she is hanging out for a while.

We raise cactus..not sure if I mentioned that at any point in my posts...heck, of course we do, we live in the desert.... But then we raised them when we lived in Oregon and Foothills of California ... we just love the prickly little fellas. Our front and back yards are filled with every kind of cactus and agave that will grow here in our hot summer months. We have had a lovely winter filled with lots of welcomed rain...because of this desert flowers are popping up all over...including our own garden. They are just starting ... many more will follow. Most people don't realize what beauty there is in desert plants....well I am here to tell you it can absolutely take your breath away.

Have A Wonderful Week Everyone

Later,

Jodi

Hi Jodi

Beautiful photos...I love cacti as well. I live in So California so get to see many of them. The Joshua Tree park has a lovely cactus garden and we visit often.

I just noticed you started following my blog. I have just posted on mine about my efforts in sculpting and mentioned you but I started writing it Saturday before you became a follower. How weird is that :-)

Just a note to let you know that I have spent the past hour reading your posts, laughing, smiling, nodding in agreement.Don't do phones, yearbook digressions etc etc. Me too! And then I visit your gallery and wows, oohs! But I bet you get that all the time. I hope you don't mind but I hope to post a short intro to your blog (Day 20 & 35) and pass on the Fabby Blog Award to you. Some pictures from your blog will be posted. Let me know if you have any problems with that :). Will be back and following.

Hi Jayne..

You will LOVE the Huntington...not only a great collection of Cactus and Succulents ...but a vast array of everything under the sun.
Art too.......

May I ask... where in Calif do you live? You come all the way over to our Hot little desert town...that is great, maybe sometime we can meet up. We love our London Bridge here... I love to Kayak right underneath the bridge...I always stop in the middle and just stare at it's beauty....

Talk Soon

I saw that...and a large science section which Mick will love...he is an engineer :-)

We really need to go before the cherry blossom season is over...my favorite tree.

We live just outside Riverside. I've been here 18 months,...spent the first 3 1/2 years in MN.

We travel a lot...I've managed to see 44 states in 5 years :-)

Havasu is often a stop on the way back from travels further afield for us and a nice short trip for visitors who come over and we take them on a CA, NV, AZ loop.

I'll let you know when we are next there...I'll treat you both to fish 'n' chips at the pub :-)
