My Last Gardenia for the Year...sniff sniff!!

Well our temps have finally hit the official 'boiling point' and all remaining buds have dropped off. This is my last official Gardenia for the year... this was taken in early morning after a light misting... I truly love gardenias. She gave us a beauty show this year...and we are keeping fingers crossed for a late fall bloom...many times we do get two bloom seasons here in the desert.
It is HOT today...about 107 .... but our mornings are lovely with even a slight chill...delicious!! We get our outside chores done before 7:00 am then hole up with the ground starts to sizzle...but this is only the beginning...me thinks it will be a long hot summer...
Off to play dominoes with friends this evening.... lots of laughs, mixed with music and sips of wine...ahhhhh relaxing...
By the by...Bellatrix should be completed by tomorrow....I made her teeny tiny bird skull necklace today...just have to attach and do last minute adjustments...
I LOVE LOVE this one...she has just the right amount of evil to her.......OooOoOooo yummy!
Have a Good Night All
Jodi

I cannot wait for Bellatrix!! Gardenia are so beautiful and heavenly smelling. My Mum was very good at cultivating them.

Beautiful Picture Jodi, such a shame that they don't last. Could do with some Sun over here, the last couple of days have been awful, high winds and Rain.
Really looking forward to seeing the new sculpt of Bellatrix after being teased with her bottom..LOL..

Jodi,
How sad about your Gardenia's. I just love the scent of them, one of my favorites of all time!

Can't wait for Bellatrix. But I can wait for summer. It is 64 here today. Will be 80 by the end of the week. Lovely rain and light wind. Jealous yet? Anyway, I am looking forward to the bird skull necklace too.

Beautiful flower Jodi. Too bad that flowers don't last longer, especially the early Spring ones.

A Dominoes evening with friends, that sounds FUN! Hope you had a great evening.

Happy Sunday & upcoming week!

Thanks Chris.... it will be something to remember the flowers by until the feel it safe to bloom again in the fall....

Dominoes was WONDERFUL...we play something called Mexican Train....it gets crazy...especially the way we play... and I was so proud of myself...only 2 glasses of wine...therefore I feel GREAT ths morning...and will get a full days work in...although we did stay up until after 1:00 am...which is LATE LATE LATE for us...
It will be a day fueled by caffine if I am to get stuff done...

Have a Good One

Hi Jodi,

I love Gardenias too, their sweet fragance is so relaxing. I have several bushes that still have tons of blooms on them.
Also, looking forward to see the end result of Bellatrix.

Hmmm...gardenia piccies :-)

How big is the whole bush Jodi ?

Creager Studios said...

Hi Jayne...

Well Gardenia Bushes can be all sizes... if in the ground, much larger...mine is in a larger pot so it is smaller, say...2 feet high by 2 feet wide (but then I keep it trimmed) ....I think you would do a wonderful job with gardenia flowers...

Thank you :-)

I thought you were going to come back and say somehting like 15 feet high lol.

In a pot I can perhaps manage !

I'll get these commissions out the way and have a go at one afterwards.
Thanks for the idea.
